Q: Tell us a bit about yourself. What’s one thing most people know about you?
Suzanne: I love to move, dance and walk anywhere.
Q: What made you decide to make a change? Was there a turning point or a sudden realization?
Suzanne: During the pandemic I injured my shoulder and during the rehab process I realized the power of strength training and that modifications to activities are opportunities for growth, not limiters. I broke out of thinking that aging is only about limitations.
Q: What made you choose 4UrLife Movement?
Suzanne: I enjoy working in individual personal training sessions AND in classes equally, and 4UrLife Movement offers really high-quality experiences in BOTH, where I always learn something new, enjoy the community, and leave with more energy than when I arrived.
Q: What has been the most challenging part of your fitness journey?
Suzanne: Flipping my priorities and my schedule so that my fitness and health come first, before all other obligations, even when I'm not quite up to it. I now truly experience that any amount of time in workout or movement will energize and open my day, rather than thinking "I just don't have time." Because if I am not fit, I can't function well in any other realm of life.
Q: What was your goal when you started and how much have you accomplished since then?
Suzanne: My goal was to become all around stronger, to learn how to be as fit as possible for my age and stop looking back at what I used to be able to do. I accomplished that goal and can enjoy Zumba, dance, running up the stairs or to the train, and jogging without pain and fatigue.
Q: What advice/tips can you give to others who are starting their fitness journey?
Suzanne: Enjoy it! Be curious and open to fitness as a learning and growth opportunity, have goals that will please YOU and don't judge yourself too harshly.
Q: What's one thing you've learned since being here at 4UrLife Movement?
Suzanne: I have learned to balance having goals with enjoying and being present and curious in the moments along the way towards those goals.
